Impact Challenge: Young students making a BIG difference

The Impact Challenge allows young students from all over West Virginia to get first-hand experience with evolving industries and the college experience.

Local: Brandon Kline

Brandon Kline is a lifelong resident of West Virginia. Over the last several decades the population of West Virginia has been in decline. Though there are many reasons for why that is (jobs, poor health, etc.) one particular cause is that, most often, younger generations of the state feel that the WV doesn't offer what they desire. Kline, along with many others, believes that their community is capable of anything with the right push. Kline opened Elk City Cycles in October 2020 amidst a pandemic with that notion in mind. His passion for all things bikes has been a constant during his life and it radiates throughout every corner of his shop. He hopes that his love for bikes and dedication to his area serves as a reminder that you can do what you love in the community that you love.

West Virginia State Capitol on 16mm

Acquired a Paillard Bolex H16 Reflex some time back and finally got around to testing it out over the summer. This was fun to learn (still learning) after spending years with an 8mm. This video is from one roll of film shot in July 2023 at the West Virginia State Capitol Complex.
